A place to call my own...

Fri Mar 6, 2009, 10:40 PM
Well, after several months of splitting a room with a buddy while working here in SF... I have, FINALLY, gotten my own room! :D About a month ago my friend whom I was staying with, another friend of his, and I got a new apartment together. We moved out to the Presidio which is pretty much a park on the Northern edge of the city. Its right across the road from baker's beach and very near the golden gate bridge... heck, I can hear the ocean through my window :) Sadly though I am no longer walking distance from work, but I am within biking distance or a hellish but rather short car commute (without traffic only 15 mins, with traffic about 35 :/ )

Anyway, upsides and downs... but overall a big step up and still nice and affordable (well, by SF standards anyway!!). Well, that's what's new with me these days... nothing too exciting really :XD:

The little bunny still lives...

Hello good people of DA... its been awhile, neh? I'm still alive and stuff... just haven't been drawing much.

Well, I've been drawing at work quite a bit actually... my boss has had me do some renderings of past design projects that never got built. Its a lot of fun and I'm pretty proud of the work :)... I want to post them here... but I don't know if I can get permission. And I don't really want to ask for permission least he wants to see the site where I'd be posting it... I'd feel a bit embarrassed to show this site to a boss. ( I mean, its kinda a lot of pictures of cute girls... it feels all a bit awkward huh?)

On the not so happy side though, the reason I have been drawing pretty pictures more than designing new projects at work... is largely because there isn't a lot of design work with this whole financial crisis. So this makes me really worried about job stability... :( The fear of getting laid off weighs heavily on me and makes it really hard to ever feel comfortable or secure. Ugh.

I guess these are just the times we live in eh? I fear for the future... but at least the present is good, I must focus on that!! No point dwelling on things I can't control after all...

Well, be healthy, be successful, and be happy everyone!! The Usagisama commands it :P

My New Life.

Sun Oct 12, 2008, 11:37 PM
Hello my watchers!!

I just thought I would catch you all up on what's happening with me these days. I'm now reasonably settled in SF, enjoying the gloriously clear and warm fall days the bay area is known for.

I'm also getting a little more settled into my job here, which, is very awesome! I'm getting paid to do something that actually interests me... what's not to love? :D But, I am new at it... so I still feel pretty slow with the logistical element of the work. However, with experience I am confident I will improve my speed!

My free time is mostly being spent in SF's Japan Town. They have awesome food, great shops full of the random Japanese stuff I thought I'd never find outside of Japan... and, best of all, they have a real Manga Kissa!!!! Which is basically a rentable comic library... you pay a reasonable hourly rate and read to your hearts content!! :) (They also have snacks, DVDs, internet, and very comfy chairs). Truly a little slice of nerd heaven

Also, as you may have noticed, I've been drawing more! And that feels great! I really have missed it... and I hope to keep up the habit! :)

Anyway, I'm liking life here! I hope I will be living in this city doing what I'm doing for a long time to come! :D

Working Bunny!

Thu Sep 18, 2008, 5:03 PM
Sorry I have not been around folks! I've been out of state, traveling by trains and planes in seek of a career that utilizes my training. So, I am happy to say the past few weeks of searching have paid off! :D I found a job in SF, and I start work on monday. :w00t:

Right now I am feverishly packing everything I absolutely need and can fit in my little Jetta GLI, so I can move down tomorrow. I'll be staying with friends for at least the first few months. However, these living conditions may not be permanent and could change. Anyway, I am mostly talking about this so you all know why I've been absent... and once I get settled in with my new job/home I'll be posting and responding again :)

Well, I hope everyone is doing well. I look forward to paging through my inbox and responding to the lovely work/comments! Till then, ja ne! :)

Hello people!

Mon Feb 9, 2004, 8:17 PM
Greeting fellow artists and artist like people!

I am new here (as is prolly very obvious) I joined because I want see other artists so that I may be inspired. I also want to show my own work so I can get useful feedback on it. I like compliments as well as informative critiques!

My first set of uploads have been all my various desktops I have made over the last several months. All of these desktops were done with Photoshop with a graphics tablet. They also show off my love of the anime style.

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all, so c’ya round!
