FOR THE LOVE OF GOD: FULL VIEW PLEASE (really, there is no point trying to view it as a thumb)

A concept picture for my Manga Mech Pilot Laika... heh, well, hopefully a manga I'll get around to sooner or later ^^; It started as a concept pic, but decided it would make a sweet wallpaper...

There are some things I really like about this pic, I like a lot of the little details in the backdrop, and I think the mech design itself looks really cool, and will work great for the comic. But the picture as a whole was very much constructed in parts (mech and city were drawn separately, and it shows). I think this picture really lacks an over all composition, it feels a little cluttered too. Whatever, the mech is sweet and it's killing stuff so I should be happy! :D

Done in Photoshop CS with a WACOM 12x12 tablet over 6+ hours (too long :XD: )

Sweet pic, I might use it for my desktop.

If I have anything to suggest, I would definitely put a ninja squid in the background jumping across rooftops. You'd get customers knocking your door down to get a copy if you did that fo sho' :D

It'll be just like this :buymyprints: except times infinity jillion!!!

Ooooooh, manga. I was wondering what that 'Mech Pilot Laika' thing was earlier. I do agree with you about the foreground and background; the mech does look pasted-on. So I'm going to use that as my excuse for not faving this (clutching at straws here, because I fave too much of your stuff :D).

This pic reminds me of how I played through "Mech Assault" with my fiance.

I shall threaten you with a rolled up newspaper, for drawing one of those buildings along would take me a couple hrs just to get right, and the mech would take ages! If I end up coloring a piece, it takes me at the very least 6hrs (and sometimes over 20 hours if I really get into doing a background) but I guess that's what happens when you use traditional media instead of a computer. I think that looks friggin' cool, like it could be a screen shot from an anime. The perspective issues could be worked on, but it's not so bad that it jumps right out at you and looks really odd. I need to draw more, I'm getting behind, and everyone knows the industry is about competition.

Mmmm, happy memories of AC3. Running, blowing stuff up, getting my arse handed to me on a platter by Midget....
That is fully awsome, so much detail in the background, and cool shadow effects off the thrusters. Top stuff as per usual. Definately a fav.
Soooo, does it have an overboost? ;)
